2018 PennDOT Contractor & Consultant Diversity Forum at Cheyney University

On October 30th, Cheyney University played host to the annual Contractor and Consultant Diversity Forum for the Eastern region of Pennsylvania.  This event, presented by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) and in cooperation with the Associated Pennsylvania Constructors (APC) and American Council of Engineering Companies of Pennsylvania (ACEC/PA), offered a variety of informative classes and presentations for Minority, Veteran and Women-owned small businesses in the construction industry.  Attendees had the opportunity to meet with multiple members of PennDOT’s Bureau of Equal Opportunity, as well as local PennDOT district executives, and representatives from some of the largest construction firms in the state.  Separate classes were held through the day for Contractors and Consultants, such as a “How Do I Bid” class for contractors hosted by representatives from Prime Contractors and successful minority and veteran owned business, to networking presentations from Mark Corbin, Director of the Small Buisness Enterprise Supportive Services Center at Cheyney University.
